Smith KGS-68M

Smith KGS-68M Boat Rod

Smith KGS-68M lands a 20-25kg Samson fish caught off the surface in 7m of water

The Smith KGS-68M secret ingredient is in the blank design. Low-modulus graphite is used for the tip section aiding smooth hooking, mid modulus and low-modulus composite for the belly section provide both tensile strength and elasticity, and high-modulus Kevlar graphite provide the butt section which is powerful enough to fight a fish and bring it up to the surface.

Smith KGS-68M is Versatile

The Smith KGS-68M is one of the most versatile rods I have used in recent years and covers pretty much all bases for the avid boat based lure fisherman.

At 6’8” the Smith KGS-68M is a perfect length for casting from the boat. It’s fast action tip makes it the perfect rod for fighting sportfish from the boat.

The Smith KGS-68M has a cast weight of up to 60g. This covers a huge variety of different lures and different species that can be targeted with this rod.

It boasts a line class rating of up to PE4, however I have found PE3 to be more than ample.

Comprising of two pieces the Smith KGS-68M is easily transportable for trips away. The superior grip design is the ideal length for really belting casts at smashing tuna schools.

Smith KGS-68M is Quality

The Smith KGS-68M uses high quality materials such as Fuji Sic guides and a Fuji honey soft reel seat. The Smith KGS-68M also boasts a maximum drag rating of 6KG at 45 degrees. This allows anglers to put max pressure on the fish without feeling pain in the lower back.

When the Smith KGS-68M is matched with the new Daiwa 2010 Saltiga 4000H you’ll have an extremely well balanced universal casting combo.  With this combo perhaps your next big hit won’t be the sad tale of the one that got away.
